How to make your own Web Boot packlet ------------------------------------- 1) Get your initrd.gz file and vmlinuz file. 2) Run the following commands: cat initrd.gz vmlinuz > resctoox.t00x echo "load_ramdisk=1 prompt_ramdisk=0 ramdisk_size=26215 rw root=/dev/ram kbd-reset" >> resctoox.t00x echo "|||SENTINEL|||" >> resctoox.t00x ls -la initrd.gz | awk '{ print $5 }' | head -n1 >> resctoox.t00x echo "|||SENTINEL|||" >> resctoox.t00x ls -la vmlinuz | awk '{ print $5 }' | head -n1 >> resctoox.t00x echo "|||EOF|||" >> resctoox.t00x 3) Place the file on your server in this location: http://a.b.c.d:p/sourceforge/xbox-linux/resctoox.t00x e.g.: mv ./resctoox.t00x /www/sourceforge/xbox-linux/resctoox.t00x 4) Start up Gentoox Loader, select the "NetBoot" option and then put in your IP address when asked (the default HTTP port for web servers is 80, so generally leave "P:" alone). 5) Click "Connect" and cross your fingers! NOTE: If the download progress bar suddenly stops it could be that your server is bombarding Gentoox Loader with information too fast, try setting a speed limit on your server! NOTE2: Entering your IP address is extremely tedious, select the IP block and keep hitting "A" on your controller, this will loop around from 0 to 255.
